Curtain Door privacy

What the app does with data, in plain words. Last updated 24 October 2026.

What the app is

Curtain Door is a check-in app used by ushers at events whose tickets are sold through a Curtain ticket site run by the event organiser. The app talks only to the ticket site the usher chose when setting the phone up.

The camera

The camera is used to read QR codes: the gate's setup code and attendees' tickets. Frames are decoded on the phone and are not stored or sent anywhere. The app asks for camera permission the first time it is needed, and works without it through typed codes and the gate list.

What is stored on the phone

Forget this gate on the About screen removes all of it. The organiser can also revoke the phone from their console at any time.

What is sent to the ticket site

Each scanned or typed ticket code, with the time of the scan when it was made offline, and the name of the phone, so the organiser's console can show which door admitted whom. Searching the gate list sends the search term and shows attendee names, emails and seats from the organiser's ticket site; the app does not keep them.

On a ticket site that sells memberships, a ticket bought at the member price also shows the member's name, membership number and membership dates. Find a member sends the name, email or membership number typed and shows the matching members, with their emails shortened. The app does not keep these either.

What the app does not do

Who is responsible for attendee and member data

Attendee names, emails and tickets, and members' details, belong to the event organiser's ticket site and are governed by that organiser's own privacy policy. Deodhi makes the app and does not receive or hold that data.
