Curtain Door support
Curtain Door is the usher's check-in app for events ticketed with Curtain. It reads ticket QR codes at the door and tells you whether each ticket is good.
Download Curtain Door on the App Store (iPhone).
Setting up a phone
The app needs a gate code from the event organiser. The organiser finds it on the Door tab of the event in their Curtain console, next to a setup QR. Open the app, scan the setup QR (or type the ticket site and the code), give the phone a name, and tap Start scanning. There is nothing to sign in to.
Checking and admitting
Check only is on by default: a genuine ticket gets a green thumbs up with its seat, and nothing is marked. Switch it off at a real door so that a good ticket is admitted once (“Welcome in”) and the running count climbs. The choice is remembered per gate on that phone.
If a ticket will not scan
Tap Can't scan? to type the ticket code, or to find the person on the gate list by name, email or seat and admit them from there.
No signal
In admitting mode, a well-formed ticket is let in and queued; the queue is sent as soon as the signal returns and each scan gets its real answer. In check-only mode the app says it cannot check and queues nothing.
Common messages
- That gate code is not recognised or has expired. Gate codes die the morning after the event. Ask the organiser for the code on the Door tab.
- This gate code is already in use on 10 phones. The organiser can revoke a phone from the Door tab or create another gate.
- Scanner revoked. The organiser revoked this phone. Tap Forget this gate and claim a code again.
- Wrong date. The ticket is genuine but for a different date of the same event.
